The LGBTQIA+ community lives, works, plays, and thrives right here in Columbia. We are an essential part of our local culture and economy—and Pride helps affirm that we belong and are valued. Together, we make Columbia a place where Pride truly lives not just in June or October, but year-round. You might be wondering why we celebrate in October. Here’s why: 1️⃣ June is jam-packed with amazing local Prides in Pulaski, Murfreesboro, Cookeville, Franklin, and Nashville — and we want folks to enjoy and support them all, without having to choose. 2️⃣ It’s hot in June — like, dangerously hot. We've had volunteers get sick and sponsors unable to participate. October gives us cooler weather, safer conditions, and more time to celebrate with you! PawPaw’s Homeless Ministry is inviting the community to make a difference at the 2nd Annual Miracle on 11th Street. This event will be hosted on Sunday, Dec. 14 from 2-4 p.m. at the corner of 11th and Peeples Streets. It is designed to bring holiday cheer, essential items and hope to Chattanooga’s unhoused neighbors. Last year, eight organizations served alongside PawPaw’s Homeless Ministry to provide clothing, hygiene kits, blankets and other necessities to more than 250 individuals in need.
